I don't want to sound like a dick but is this really the end of the cars potential with a LS1?
I know the rule money can do anything fast but does the LS1 have potential to get more power and be quicker?

Im sure W2W did a great job but have they been the only ones who have set out to get this record or have other have tried to push the LS1 to its limits and this the best they got?

Is kinda of weird because theirs other engine's that look more crappy then this one and get better....also whats the stock aluminuim block 1/4 mile and most hp.

Sorry Im no car expert so don't get mad at me I just want to learn more about the LS engines.

I think an 8 second pass N/A is pretty damn good with a small block, that engine has to be making 900+ hp.

If the car is 3450 lbs or heavier and running 9.0 or quicker, then it's making 900+ hp.

yeah 9.95 and I think he held a NA six speed record at some time, of course beaten by Six Speeds Inc.

can't ask for better on a 346 I'm sure, but that just isn't the kind of power I want on the street, more under the curve for myself......

it is Jerico 4 speed manual.

Car weighs right under 3150 and now with the new gears in, it will go quite a bit quicker. It was on the limiter almost just prior to the 1,000 ft.

Going from a 5.14 gear to 4.56's or a 4.70. Looking for 155 mph and some .60's. We shall see.

C5-R Block and Heads. Everything done was built in-house by ourselves and the students.

Just out of curiosity. What do you think your car would run with a T-56? I know with the Jerico the gear ratios are kind of ala carte so it would suffer a little bit there but the T-56 has some options too. The T-56 is heavier (more than likely not sure) so it would likely suffer there too. Sixspeedinc's car is SICK but so is yours. Just curious about your thought on the matter. Have you guys considered going after that record as well? Thanks for your time.

Sorry for the late response. Either option would end up with a fast car. Back when the SS was a true T-56 based car, we were having a problem with them breaking around 750 to 800 horsepower. We did not have the options that Joe and Amber can get these days. The car will stay equipped with the Jerico. We have no need to switch it out.

Also, Joe was a graduate of the school and VERY good friends with us. We talk on a weekly basis. Very good people that bring a lot to the table here in the LSX world. Great people to have in the lane next to you.

Thats cool. Thanks for posting up. The T-56 options have come a long way and will only get better probably. I've heard nothing but good things about Joe and Amber and they are very helpful in the manual tranny section. Both thier car and yours are definately fast. Have a good one.

Matt 346 went 8.87 @ 153 from what he posted some time back. C5R Block, good heads and a five speed. That SAM's car is about fast enough to run NMCA Pro Stock although it would probably have to add weight.

Last time I checked in the rules, fuel injected cars had a small weightbreak. We are almost right where we would need to be for weight with a 420" motor period.

Definitely not the weight guys with the 550" motors have to hit, but we shall be fine if we decide to campaign the car in the Pro Stock class all season this year.

We still have to get into the .60's first though, which with the new gear change, should happen soon enough.

Default C&v Performance Ls1

Hi People

The guy's at C&V PERFORMANCE in Australia have unleashed a new combo that has a AUSTRALIAN made block (LS1 style Alloy) and 400cui singal turbo with a powerglide in a Commadore ute by GD RACE CARS that weighs 3000lbs with a new driver.

On his licenceing pass he ran a 7.33@194mph then on his second full pass 7.09@197mph with a soft tune on low boost

The PROFREIGHT/C&V PERFORMANCE LS1 ute should be into the 6's very soon!!

Here is some footage of his passes @ WSID on the 2/8/08

If you will notice the first post says no power adder. None the less thats fast for a single turbo with a glide.

Awesome stuff, but I doubt a 400 cid with a turbo is going to run 10 psi (low Boost) and run 190+ mph.

So how much boost did they actually run and how much faster is this ride going to be capable of?
