The stance is a little wide on our car too with the 29.5 x 10.5 phoniex but the car is soo tame that after i dialed it in with the limiters and the rear sway bar it drives like a caddy. No problems with it getting out of hand or out of the groove, i like to try to set the car up for no surprizes. I set the wheel base and alignment up (with my father in the drivers seat) perfect so the cars basically drives itself. When i tagged the bumper it dragged it perfectely from one side to the other and i set the car down on both front tires at the same time and excaped with out damage.
you and me both, except i wanna go all motor

Just a little update for you guys, after mondays track rental at atco we posted up some good numbers. First off we are now members of the 9 second N/A club as we went 9.91 and 9.94 both @ 136.6x mph and 1.36 sixty's. As far as nitrous went we almost became members of the 8 second club with a 9.13 @ 148 with a 1.28 sixty with the ignition breaking up at about 1100 ft. That was on a 175 shot then i bumped it up to a 200 shot and went 5.70 @ 121 mph in the eight then the ignition broke up even worse and it fell on its face at the 1000 ft mark and i coasted to a 9.18 @ 136. Both me and my father were driving the car and i was wrenching on it most of the day. I got to say that the rental was great and everyone that i meet went above and beyond with help and curtiousy. I will be making a few changes over the winter mostly just with the ignition but plan to be out with a 250-300 shot in the spring so im sure ill be getting that 8 second pass with a goal of 8.7x's. i will post up some vids in this thread and in the multi section over the weekend so check back.

Thats redicuously fast for a 200 shot. What do you think was causing the ignition problems?

I had the cap off the other day and there was some metal built up around the magnetic pick up so i took the dist out and clean everything up. The dist is older and a small cap so im going to switch to a crank trigger and wide cap dist. It broke up on just motor so i know its not a nitrous problem since it has its own fuel system.

I had some issues with my distributor and I got a new mag. pick up and set the air gap to .025. I haven't had a single problem with it since and I spin mine 421 to 8300.

havent been able to get the car to hook with the front end limiters tight but you can see what happened after putting them up two notches too high LOL.
Installed a new distributor and crank trigger over the winter and solved my problems with the car breaking up through the traps. Resistance was too high in the magnetic pick up in the dist. and being a small cap dist the rotor was being unphased with the retard. Little mishap on the last pass were i lost the rear window, hatch and wing from a rotted hinge but will take car of that in the next week or so. Any way 9.10's @ 150.5 on four passes so far this year and a not so great best of a 1.33 60'. I may just have to break down and put some wheelie bars on it or just set up a progressive controller. Will report back after gettin her back together for some more tuning.

nice to see some other 3rd gens out there running good numbers!!! My best with my new car is a 5.61@125 leaving off the foot brake and with a 1.31 ft60. I hope to be in the 5.50 range this year....

I am planning on coming up to ny to see my friend at the end of this summer. maybe we can get together and run at atco or island when I go up there.... I wont go to e-town because it left a bad taste in my mouth after my last trip up there!!!!!

I drove 17 hours to race after e-mailing them with a few questions. I get there and they say I have to have mufflers and I did, then they tell me no bullets!!!!! well thats not what the guy told me in the e-mail and on the phone@@!!! he just said mufflers on a saturday!!! then they give me a free pass to come back and race that following wednesday............ well guess what they were closed that wednedsday for track prep for a race coming up that weekend!!!!!!!!! so I was out a bunch of cash, time, and I was pissed off most of my trip

here is a pic of my new car...

here is a pic of the car

nothing but junk. picking the motor back up from charlie buck next week or so and going to throw it back in to play till the car gets updated next month. then the big motor goes in but i wanna run 7's with the little motor before i pull it. and with the changes buck made to it shouldn't be a problem. here is an idea of the whole turd.

hoping for it...3rd gens do not weigh much...ls1s are good for -100 off the bat over a general iron sbc..gutted to hell..no accessories...lexan and fiberglass are your friends. 2500 is my target weight (based off an average curb weight of many 3rd gens)...ill see how close I come to that.
