NASTYTA - Don't you have a glide? Well ofcourse this is just an opinion, but a glide, 10pt CAGE!, no a/c, and ALUMINUM seats isn't a street car. You just happen to drive it there. I would like to ride in in though, maybe it's super tame cruising. That would be a real suprise, very nice car though.
a power glide doesnt make it "not a street car" back in the 60's cars came from the factory with no a/c, manual brakes, manual steering, powerglide, etc. they were considered street cars, not luxurious, but still street cars. also the aluminum seats are pretty comfortable.

agree with 9sec93, a glide is 1 to 1 in high gear just the same as any other 3 speed auto. the rear gear ratio would be the limiting factor with either trans. i have a glide in mine now with a 3.50 gear. it turns about 2600 @70mph. thats with 28" tires. still very streetable.

EXACTLY.....

She is super tame cruising..... i have a baby cam... 224/222.....

3.54 rear gears and 28" 325/ radials also......

On to your next post..

Yep Yep.. drove the car D/D for 8 months. 38 miles round trip each and everyday of the week in rain or shine....then on average id cruise 50-100 miles on Sat evening and night.
The only reason i got a beater was the fuel cost..... 6-7 mpg in stop and go traffic and 10-11 mpg on the freeway gets old...... $15 in fuel every two days sucks LOL
My new beater gets 26mpg in the city alone..... i can drive all month on one tank LOL

Thats just my .02 though....

Can I get a ride next time I'm in VA? I'd like to see how it rides.

How were the MT 325's in the rain?

9.33 at 149 on radials , driven to and from the track 95% of the time . I drive the car as much as possible in all conditions , long highway cruises , stop and go summer traffic etc .

There's a lot of debate lately about guys calling there cars " street cars " IMO somebody that chugs the car around on back roads with no traffic for 10 minutes is not a true street car , I can do that with a tank if I had one . I guess if you own the car you can call it what ever you want to , but props to the guys that really put some decent street miles on there cars .

The day my car ran it's best ET/MPH it was driven over an hour to and from the track , then I cruised around for another 3-4 hours that Saturday night .

This is worse than a debate about which stickers give your honda the most power, theres nothing here to debate, if the state gives you a sticker and plates its a street car.

Everyone would agree on that, the argument is Streetable.

A car with a 800 lift solid roller cam, a 6,000 stall and 513 gears wont be very streetable but could be a street car by your definition.

Thanks for your opinion NEWb

I should be in the 9 sec club but cant go back to our local track for i have been baned and havnt gotten a 9 sec slip yet now that the tranny is fixed , hehe

I can drive it cross country and its should run out around 9.50s-9.70s

Maybe us mustang guys don't belong in this thread, but I drive both my 9 sec cars on the street. The Terminator has ice cold air and from it's outward appearance and sound, most would think it totally stock. 700rwhp on the street tune.

The 85 GT fox is a different story. 418 small block 10.50s on motor, 9.90 on 125 shot. Have not run a higher shot or 2nd stage...yet. License and inspection? Yes. A/C? no. Power steering? no. Cruise around? yes. Streetable to the point of being a DD? ummm...No.

Man, there are some badass street cars on this forum.

When Mine is together I drive it all the time. Until I decided to make it legal for 9s it had A/C. A/C is the only thing I gave up

Damn I need time to get the rest of the cage in it!

If I did not hate dealing with the intercoolers and pipes again I would put the Twin's on it and cam it down. I could probably coax it into the bottom nines high 8s then.

We will see Till then I will just keep pumping juice into my baby LT1

yea we all strongly support each others performance in the club. That pass being .4 quicker than i'd ever run at that track before was cause for jubilation

that was a 1.82 short time
