this 3rd gen should be hitting 8's soon also, oddly enough with less engine and less nitrous. 383 with 225 jets, only about 100 lbs lighter too
that is a good looking 3rd gen though, what pistons are you running in the 434?and what trans do you have?
I have a manual steering box also, and it has a ton of slop in it so im looking for a diffrent steering setup, but if the fronts are off the track who needs to turn?

My car went 8.96 @ 150 on a 200 shot but after that I had to add alot of nitrous to gain very little. The jump from 9.20 to 8.90 wasn't bad but from 8.90 to 8.70s was a whole nother story. Mostly due to the lack of cylinder head flow, small headers and a cam that was ground to run N/A. If I were to start over my motor would be a little smaller. Next year it will run alot better on the bottle and probably alot worse on the motor. Always a compromise somewhere.
It has JE pistons
The trans is a TH400
As for steering it has a manual pinto rack.

yeah i hate those laws of deminishing returns lol.
also are you running a stock or aftermarket block?
most nitrous cams are pretty tame driving on the street, wide lobe sep and long exh. duration , but short intake, helps vacume too if you need it.
Its funny how an engine will have a spot where its happy and not want anymore, sounds like you found yours more or less with the current setup. still hauls though, let us know what you do to it and how it runs next year

What cam are you running?
I ran a 377 afr 210 heads, holley hp 950, super victor, th400 4500 stall.
Had a smaller cam 256/263 .639/.639 on a 106 lobe I got for free, talk about a difference on the N20 with the wider lobe.
My N20 grind was 270/284 660/669 on a 114 lobe.
