Default Electric water pump on SBC

I wonder how well this pump will work on my 95 Z with a SBC, it is a little over a half gallon per second, not too bad but how well will it really work???

i run the same proform water pump on my car and i drive it a few day a week some times up to 2 hours at a time and ive never had a problem with it, but between the water pump and my fans it kills the battery in about 10 minssitting in the staging lanes but it doesnt take that long to cool off

Default Electric water pumps

I put a similar one on years ago on my drag car to circulate water in the staging lanes, low electrical draw and I have two red top batteries and also ran both fans on a manual switch, no problems and the combination cools the car down quickly for the next run.

I vaguely remember having to modify the existing water pump housing, maybe some grinding but not that big a deal. Maybe things have chaned in 4 or 5 years and the design is now a bolt on?
