350 with flat tops
350 with flat tops I have a 350 chevy with flat tops 4 valve relief,I was wanting to go with the lunati voodoo .489/.504, I also have a set of 461 casting heADS HEAVILY PORTED, what i was wondering is what you guys think of the set up,and possibly the power and torque. Thanks
I guess you would need more info, sorry I was in a hurry.It is a stock bottom end,4 bolt main,cast crank,cast pistons. It's out of a 79' chevy truck. The heads I've had on the shelf someone put alot of money having them pro ported,there 64cc, 2.05int, 1.60exh.I was told they flow upwards around 200cfm,going to have them checked next week to be sure.I'm also using 1.5 roller rockers. The intake is wieand stealth was going to port match to the heads,But im thinking the top end will be to much for the bottom end.The bottom has 5000 miles on the rebuild.Also was going with Holley 750 Street Avenger. I've heard alot of good things about the Lunati Voodoo 60103,even though the top end flows as much as it does, I wanted to stay with a decent cam, even though the trans is a 4 spd. But i was wanting to hear opinions from you guys, the people I have around here don't know much, so it's hard to get honest opinions. Thanks again in advanced.
Should be alright but cast pistons dont like to be revved much past 5500. I did it with a big block. And it wasnt a pretty site. Cam would go to 7500 heads would go to 8000 but some one forgot to mention to me that the pistons were cast
The pistons will have no problem to 6000 RPM, the cam is not as big as i would go, but depending on the heads, you might be happy with it, i would say use a 650 carb till you are using a good set of head and a big cam.
