Default Improving my 468 bbc
hi
I have a 468 bbc and I want it to be around 400 hp
now it has
stock bottom with flat top pistons
comp cam 280
oval port heads
around 9:1 compression
team G intake
2" carb spacer
750 quick fuel carb
long tube headers
MSD ignition system with 6Al
A/C delete
power steering delete

what do you think guys ?

you should be able to get 1 hp per cube.

More compression and a bigger cam, bigger carb, 3" exhaust.
Depending on heads and parts selection that can get you 600hp, I wouldn't do it with stock pistons though.

You should be at about 400hp at the motor STOCK.

My 468 was making like high 5XXhp on the motor with a .612 lift cam...

Depends how much money you want to spend, heads are key for power, aside from that, solid roller cam and a supervictor or victor jr ported intakes would help considerably.

Pretty sure they were rectangular, they were not the oval/round ports....

Killer budget heads....

Can still find them for a little over a grand.
