I think the 260-280 range is more realistic.

Longtubes make a BIG difference
My car cant breath since Im using the stock manifolds and I hope to pic up 40-50 at the crank from doing LT and full 2.5 in exhaust to bulet cats to tips

If you really want the HP to jump get a miniram intake. But you will lose your 2000rpm peak tq

The miniram is a piece of junk and is over priced. A Holley stealthram it easier to put on and you won't lose your torque as bad. You can do the whole swap for right at 700 bucks.

well lunati did a build on a 305 and made 345 crank hp with nothing more than heads cam and intake. i have a 86 trans am that i copied their build on but havent had it to a dyno yet, my plan is to surprise a few mustang boys in the area. people don't really expect **** out of a 305. but then they will be all saying its a 350 or stroker or something.

i dont know if this link will work but popular hotrodding made over 370 hp on a 305. these engine have some *** kickin ability in em, i mean if you think about it they still have more cubes than your average mustang, they just need to breath better

sry this is the one I was thinking of
plus they made one to clear the C4 corvette hoods.

You will lose torque at the bottom but you get Hp up to 6000 if i remember right

the mini ram is hardly a piece of junk,hi priced yes but it is money well spent in the end. i had the superram(great manifold) i also had the miniram(1993) and my junk ran real good with it especially with a power adder....

My junk has gone as fast as 11.60@117 with the stock 1990 short block, cam, AFR heads, miniram and exhaust changes. The miniram would be way too much for a bolt-on 350. Another option is a modified LT1 intake.

I had two buddies that had minirams and they both had problems and TPIS was no help at all in offering technical advice. The first one kept leaking fuel at the crossover and it caught fire at the track and TPIS didn't offer to replace it or do anything about it. The second one had a crack in the runner underneath by the lifter valley and it we replaced it with a stealth ram and it runs perfect on his 383. I completed a build last year with a stealth ram, TPIS 187/AFR heads and a zz409 cam and the car just went 11.83 with no suspension work.

The miniram is an overglorified lt1 intake.

To the original poster a miniram is too much for a 305 in my opinion. A prime example is the l99 4.3 v8 that came in the caprice's in 95 and 96. Those cars had no get up and go what so ever, even though the car was heavy, that motor made no torque.

I have never put a stealth ram on a 305 so I don't know what your poerband would look like.

Did you do any fuel upgrades? Injectors, fuel pump? Also, I suggest you visit Moates site and get what you need to do your own tuning. There are a few places out there that can get you "close" with a generic mail order chip. But, for what that costs, you can get set up with your own equipment. It's tedious, but now they have a setup that you can solder into your stock ECM and burn new tunes on the fly. It's less than $100 and only requires soldering 3 wires. Makes quick work of trying new things.
