for the money edelbrock wants for those kits i'd go vortech or pro-charger...i like pro chargers because they are self contained however they run a bit hotter than a vortech unit if they arent intercooled

The problem is with a Procharger (that would be my first choice as well), I have a Quickflow Tech. carb and they said to make it into a blow through carb would be around 500$ and they said that the vacuum ports would be taken out of the carb. So then i would have to also buy a vacuum booster for the brakes. It sounds like it would be over anuther grand to run a centrufugal supercharger. So i guess i am trying to mininize all the things that has to be done which in turn makes it not so expensive. I think the D1 PRocharger kit can be had for around 3600$ last time i checked.

Well to make you feel better it is an Eaton (magnacharger) made supercharger. Edelbrock just bought the rights to sell it and put their name in it.

Yeah it would be going in my 1974 chevy stepside with the new 355. I am concerned tho how big of a problem i will have with traction. I plan on running a streetable 8 to 10 lbs of boost. The thing is I have 4.10 gearing with the th700r4 tranny. 1st gear is really low! I am running a 29 inch mickeys by 14 inch wide. Is there anyone here that thinks i should re gear or just go with a bigger and stickier tire???? thanks all
