what is the biggest cam you can put in a stock 454?

These will give you an idea how much easier & cheaper a crate motor is now a days.
For you, I would check out RM, they are top notch also & much closer.
Just make the car good & strong, a decent crate engine will have you in the 8's all day!!

Cool im actually planning on attending SAM's school here in texas and learning how to machine heads and bore engines and what not so i was kind of hoping to get a bare block and do all my own stuff. but of course that is all going to happen after i get my certification and what not. this is going to be a very long project for the fact that i want to do everything correctly and spend the money on the parts that will last not go cheap and have to replace things because i didnt get the stuff thats built to last. thanks for all the info and i will def let ya'll know how the project progresses

BMR sells a BBC kmember that im planning on getting and then im going to run a motorplate setup. im looking into all the stuff for paint at the moment and trying to find the time to get the car down to bare metal for cage and what not so we can lay a nice base on it(most likely SOM). I'll probably be starting a new thread soon and when i do i will send you the link and post up pics!
