fuel system problems. HELP!!!!!

fuel system problems. HELP!!!!! Ok so we took the 305 tbi motor out of my buddies 89 camaro and installed a carb 350 motor. Now the car will run fine for awhile then seems to get fuel fouled out and will run like **** till it gets cleared out, it has a fuel pressure regulator and running stock fuel pump in tank. Question is if the fuel pump is just pushing to much pressure for the regulator or what else could be causing the issue??? Ask any questions you can to help me figure this one out. Thanks
Probably need to put a bypass regulator on it. I don't know how much pressure a stock pump puts out, but most dead head regulators will only handle about 15 psi going into it.

so i need to find him a return style regulator, the way it is hooked up now there are 2 lines to the one regulator which one is return but that wont work if the regulator is not a return style is what i am getting from this?!?!?!
