Mating SBC to 4l60E
Ive used the search function and also did a search on google and come up with nothing. Its a 60E from an 99 4.3 (truck). I know it will bolt up, but that's all i know. Im trying to be as cost effective as possible. TIA.

not sure. i think it also uses the tps and map sensors to shift. ive heard of people going from 4l60e's to 700r's and others real easy. but i dont know anyone who went the other way around

I hear the only difference in the 700R's and 4L60E's is that the 4L60E is fully computer controlled. Since 700R's came behind many SBC's the torque converters and everything should work (if what I heard is correct). What are you putting this combination in anyways?

I mean if its something you won't be driving all the time and don't necessarily need the overdrive you could just sell the 4L60E and get a th350 or 400 and that would be cheaper anyways. Just a thought though

It'll be somewhat of a daily, and i would like to be able to take off and drive somewhere that's 8 - 10 hrs away without running 3500 rpm at 70. Ive got TH350's & 400's. Really wanting to go with an overdrive.

Ive done it before. On my SBC swap into a 94Z28. The torque converters are the same between 700R4 and 4L60E.
The computer will shift the transmission but it will really suck. You will need a module that "acts" as a TPS. There about $150. You plug your factory TPS sensor plug into it and then run a cable from it to your carb. It acts as a kick down cable. Its really a neat little contraption. It takes a computer controlled action and makes it a cable controlled action. I got mine locally from Doug Herbert Performance. After I finished installing it It ran just like a factory car.
Look at the drivers side on the fender well. That red thing is the module im talking about.
