a 600 is more than enough carb for a 200hp motor. when you start making more power the motor will demand more fuel. imo stick with the 600 until you make some power.

600-650. Anything more is way too much. Hell, you could get away with a 550.

the 600 wasnt running that good, the 750 is better so far when im at a cruse, but not on take off, but ealer the tires spun a few times when the 600 wasnt doing that unless the tires were wet. tomarow my machanic is coming over to do adjustments, and well go from there, im thinking a 650m im going to stick with eldlbrock though

The main thing for drivability is, small primaries to keep the signal
up. A damn Q-Jet might do you better than any square-bore Holley
(but I have never, ever been able to rebuild one of those right, the
Holleys are either more forgiving, less of a contraption, or both).

Got a 650 Edelbrock on my Caprice (400) and it's not holding me
back any that I can tell. A bit of an off-idle stumble that I have
not been able to get rid of by playing with the pump. But not a
bad carb in my book (ask me again 10 years from now). And it
fits the Edelbrock Performer manifold and other spread-bore ones
a lot cleaner than the Holleys. If you got a square bore manifold
though, you'd be pretty much Holley bound.

if the 600 isn't running good it is probably your tuning. take it apart and spray the **** out of it with carb cleaner. spray every hole and crevice. put it back together. turn the idle mixture screws 1 1/4 turn out and start from there.

a 750 is too much carb for that motor. way too much. if you are running a vc it will work because the car isn't making enough of a vacuum signal to use the full power of the carb.

i had a 305 with close to 300flywheel horse power and the 600 served the motor great. you have a lot less and the 600 should work awesome for you. if it is running fucked up its either in a rebuild needing stage or you don't know how to set it up. its is really simple. remember also your timing has a lot to do with this issue also. sometimes timing can make a car seem like the carb is ******* up.

A 650 can flood a car out just as fast as a 750. Your problem sounds like the secondaries are opening too fast when you floor it (and vacuum drops). In other words, it is too much air, not too much gas. There were plenty of smog era 305s and 350s making less power than you that ran 750 quadrajets from the factory...even a lot of Buick V6s. Work on getting the secondaries to open at the right time. I never worked on an Eddy...are the secondaries controlled by a spring and vacuum?

definitely in your tuning. a 600cfm is more than plenty for a 200 horse motor. i am only running a 750 on a 500ish hp motor and it runs fine. you just have to get the tuning right on it.
