yeah i can't believe the power these motors make, and how cheap you can get everything! the parts for theses things are a dime a dozen!
i figured somebody on here had played with one over the years!
i saw that 95Z, i think he did end up getting it running at some point??

I know some local guys that run the SB2.2 stuff in thier cars. They are nasty on the Bottle. 9's should be easy.
My only issue with the SB2.2 stuff is getting the compression low enough to be able to run a decent amount of Turbo derived boost. It not a big issue if you are willing to run Alky. That just kinda sucks on the steet.
Entry price's varies on the engine's depending one where thay come from. Parts after that can be bought very reasonably.
I have been eye'ing a couple of these engines for my 70 Camaro street car project. It would be a blast with a stick and steep gear.

as far as getting it to the ground.... i'm in the process of building a chromoly fab 9, with a strange center section, and i had some old lenco stuff layin around from my dads old blown alcohol car.... so looks like we might be runnin a stick after all!

I think they are pretty impractical for a street car. I would much rather build a 434 sbc, or better yet a BBC! Cool setup though, what did all the parts run ya if you dont mind me asking?

Been running a 427ci SB2.2 for 3 years now with a T56 behind it and on pump gas. Fun ride for sure! Dynoed 758rwhp corrected. Although, I'm thinking about selling the complete top for something else with pressurization. I'd let go of everything needed (complete heads, welded and ported intake, valley cover, fuel rails, manton pushrods, isky lifters, sheet valve covers, 2 cammotion cams, lemons stepped 2" - 2 1/8" headers for a 4th gen) and all you would need to buy are pistons for your normal sbc block and some gaskets. Email me at tweakedz@telus.net if anyone's interested. And not really impractical for a streetcar. Still runs 2000rpm on the highway at 75mph with 4.89 gears and 29.5x10.5s. Just enough lope to draw a crowd though. LOL.
