tool for ARP flexplate bolts

tool for ARP flexplate bolts i have a 91 chevy 350 that im trying to use ARP 12pt flexplate bolts on and i cant get a box end wrench or a socket on the bolt to tighten it up. the centering flange on the crank for the flexplate is too close to the bolt. i tried machining down a 3/4 socket to fit in there but it just broke. wtf am i supposed to use?

i used a 3/8 drive 3/4 socket and nothing doin. i couldnt get the side of the socket between the bolt head and the crank flange. this is the only thing keeping me from putting it on the dyno at school...i really hate to use channel locks

WOW, that's weird. I've put a ton of flexplates on, and never had that issue.
I can't believe a standard socket won't work??
Wrench's don't work, but I torque mine down with a socket.
I would definitely use a socket & tap it on or grind/machine it down a little to get it thin enough??
Please do not use channels.

im ready to throw them thru ARP's front window and use the stockers. this isint any high HP build, but i just want good quality stuff on it so it lasts as long as the stock engine did...200k.

i think thats what im going to do. its just a pain in the *** when ARP sells you something that hardly does its job. i mean im sure they do their job, but getting it to work is another story.

I've never used a 12 point, so I'm not going to say if it's just too damn tight??
The 6 point is tight, but I personally have never had one that damn tight??
Obviously the biggest head possible will hold better, but geesh, you have to get a tool on the damn thing??
