Red face 86 cutlass supreme

So i just brougt an 86 cutlass supreme for dirt cheap because someone couldnt pay their past due amount to the shop ...Found out it has a 305 in it and we all kno thats not enough power for this heavy car...Sould i build the 305 or try something bigger...?

im goin to stick with he carb 305 and build it to a 355....

Motor was 700$ for the 6.0(5.3 are cheaper of course, 400-500$), the intake new was 270$, the ignition box was 310$ and that was it, you can use manifolds and your stock trans and make more power for less with the 5.3 than a budget 350.

okso im going t get another block then..not sure which yet...but what can i to to my stock 305 for now to make it a lil bit faster

Nitrous is what i did when i had a 305. Otherwise, headers, intake, carb, all that might make more power, but you cannot tell. They just dont feel anywhere like you want without a cam and head swap. Some have made them run, but it is not cost efficient.

i was told i can bore my 305 out to a 355 easy..

Not possible, the 305 is not able to get a 4 inch bore. The crank is the same, it can be stroked to 335 cubes, that will make more power, but you might as well get a engine like the 5.7 that has more cubes as it is. Then stroke up to 383/396, whatever your heart desires.
