how to identify internal balance engine?

Default how to identify internal balance engine?

my engine is from my Camaro z28 1992 the flexplate has weight on it but the balancer dont is there any other way that shows if the engine is internal balance or external? the engine is factory L98 TPI 1992 with iron heads

Try Google. I'm pretty sure I remember seeing that the later model engines were externally balanced, but only the flywheel had weight and the dampers were all neutral balance. I think LT1's are like that too.

I believe the extra weight on the flywheel was put there when they went to a one piece rear main seal. I read that a long time ago, so my memory is a little fuzzy! Better read up on it for yourself.

it is internally balanced on the front and externally balanced at the back, just like LT1s

they did it with the one piece seal because its round unlike the older two piece with the counter balance
