I have an 02 formula firebird that i bought off a buddy dirt cheap. The engine threw a rod, he bought another ls1 and it had a rod knocking. Original plan was to rebuild one of the engines, but due to budget restraints i cant afford to right now. I have a very good running 350 in a 71 gmc pickup right now that has had a lot of work done to it. What would i need to do to put the sbc in my car? Does the k member need to be changed, what adapter would i need to connect it to the 4l60e? What type of headers would i need? Or would all the stuff needed to convert it end up costing me the same as building the ls1??? Ive been searching the internet trying to find answers but havent found anything yet. All help and imput would be greatly appreciated.

Theres a few lt1 to gen 1 swap threads check them out. Nobody does this swap because it dosent make sense. It would be easier to throw a 5.3 vortec in it and theyre damn cheap now.

Thats why i was thinking about doing the swap since no one else really does it. But by the time i buy a k member and everything else it wouldnt be worth it. I guess if i had a bad *** big block making a ton of power it would be alright. Think i will just save some money and get a 6.0 or 5.3.

I am almost done with my SBC conversion. It has been a lot of fun, and like you said it's different than what everybody else is doing! Pm me if you gave any questions I would be happy to help if I can.
