Default 383 Kit

Hey guys Im starting my new project this month an needing some ideas an which way to go. Im building a 383 an was wanting to get some advice on what kit to buy. My engine is going to consist of AI heads an Cam. I have a 4 bolt main block as my foundation.

What kind of budget do you have? What are you wanting to do with it? What hp you looking for? I built mine a few years back and used a scat rotating kit with the series 9000 crank and hyperuetic pistons. I used vortec heads and have been eyeballing a set of edelbrock e210 heads.

under 4000 probably. Mainly a drag car with occasional street drive an a good sounding cam. My Goal is 500hp on motor with a 150hp shot.

We run Ohio crank in both of our drag cars. You can get kits for $750 to $1700 depending on what you want.

I have an Ohio crankshaft and rods in my block as well. It has seen 6800 rpms a few times with 0 issues

I used a high nickel 010/020 4 bolt block with eagle crank, h beam rods and JE pistons with AFR 210 heads, hydraulic roller cam with 600 lift. I also run a 200 shot nos big shot plate system and love it!
