Default 98 vortec 350 carb,cam question

good morning. i have a 1998 350 vortec motor vin r thaqt is supposed to have roughly 9.4:1 compression. i had a gm hot cam and i donot like the drivability of this camshaft. has no torque below 3000 then its a rocket. i was looking at the lpe camshaft 74200. specs: @.050 215-220 i/e .501/.513 i/e with 1.5 rockers with a lobe sep of 114 and icl of 114. already have the vavle springs install to handle the lift. some say that is mostly a blower cam. will this work well for what i want which is good drivability. if not any body got any good reccomendations? this cam looks really similar to the zz4 cam if u add a 1.6 rocker on the intake minus the lsa. at time i travel 100 miles a day in ths car which is a 87 buick regal with a 200r and 3.42 rear with functional a/c. seachers dont really turn up much other than a blower cam. any info much appeciated. just tryin to learn with out making a $400 mistake.

That cam will not fit unless you remove the heads and have the guide bosses milled down. My .454 lift cam would not clear with the stock vortec heads. I ended up using ls6 springs installed @1.790 to gain enough retainer to seal clearance.

I already run the gm hot cam with 1.6 rockers .525 lift going to go down to 1.5 with this cam choice
