engine suffix trouble

Default engine suffix trouble

Okay guys im a little on the confused side.. i have looked at my engine suffix and got this v0503clp but on the back on the block behind the head is clearly says 5.0lg sgi. ok supposedly the v0503clp is a 400 but the other number clearly states 5.0 anyone ever seen this. or am i just way wrong.

It says 5.0 lg sgi but why would the front code tell me different

its a 305 buddy. if you want to know pull the cylinder head and that will answer all of your questions
