I've got an old bracket racing 355 sbc I'm freshing up an got a new cam for it, comp cam xs282s solid lift, just wanting to get some input on what lifters I should get? I've heard of comp having some issues with there's.... Input on the edm style or they just a waste of money

I can't recall which one I typically use, 813 or 2900. I think it is 2900. Unless they have changed something in the past 2 years I will use them again. I have never had a problem. I use Brad Penn break in oil only and the red lube comp provides. I suppose for added safety you could go to the lifters with the EDM hole. But I have a pretty aggressive flat tappet cam in a 400. 260/269, .595/.614, 106cl. I don't have the spring pressures in front of me, but it always works.

You only want to run about 20-30lbs more spring pressure with a solid flat tappet over a hydralic flat tappet.

I'm going to answer an unasked question: You'll be happier with a roller tappet cam and lifters. Less friction=less power to turn the cam, no need for high zinc oils.

I'll add to Al's post by saying that roller cams (solid or hydraulic) allow a lot more agressive ramp of the lobes, which allows more valve lift.
