Good Day,
I am hoping that one of you out here who has forgotten more about Big Blocks than I will ever know can help me gather specifications on my engine.
The number on my engine is T0117CGV. Using this link http://brianesser.com/technical-info...-suffix-codes/
I broke this down as so:
T = Tonawanda
01 = January
17 = 17 (Day of the month)
CGV = Engine Suffix Code
According to this link (and several other sites)
http://www.chevy-camaro.com/chevy-ca...es.asp?group=2
These are the basic engine specs:
Code Year CID HP Model Comment
CGV 1970 454 345 Chevrolet LS-4
I know this engine has the factory pistons in it, what I am not sure about is what compression ratio they are. From what I have read on various post it appears they would 10.25:1.
Will someone please let me know if this is correct and if there is a link to more detailed specification for this engine.
Thank you for your help.
