what carb to pick

what carb to pick not really sure on what carb i should get.
355 c.i. for now although i want a crank to put me at 383.
world products steel heads that have been ported really well.

540 lift roller cam
performance rocker arms and valve springs as well but i forget what they are exactly
its a street strip car and my goals are to run an 11.9 on the motor and a 9.9 on the bottle. i pretty much have everything except a carb, i did some equation thing and it said to get a 650 cfm carb but i was thinking that might be a little small. not really sure what do you guys think? also what is the best brand i heard possibly demon, thanks.

A 650 will work, a 750 will lost a touch of torque but gain a touch of HP. The difference will only be noticed if your spinning the engine like a man, say 7000 rpm. Most sbc will turn 6-6400.
with a victor jr intake, correct me if i'm wrong but that's a single plane intake manifold. as such, with a larger cam shaft having higher duration and overlap you're going to get terrible intake manifold vacuum at low rpm's so be aware of that. the result is you'll need a smaller carburetor in order to get it to function adequately at 1000 rpm and lower, this becomes important if you have an automatic transmission and how you intend to drive it. if you have a manual transmission and it's more of a strip car and you are ok with sacrificing street manners and something like a minimum rpm of 1500, then the better carb choice would be in the 750 cfm range like said to give you max hp at high rpm.
i know holleys and for the most part a fan of them, but i would recommend you consider and educate yourself on edelbrock carbs if you want a street friendly carb given your setup. you'll also want to figure your goals out and decide if you want mechanical vs vacuum secondaries on a carb if you choose a holley style carb and if you do i would not choose an oem holley but an aftermarket style holley like demon or proform which gives you more tuning capability.
