It had some wiring problems that i figured out and i had it running for about 10 minutes after that, i made the mistake of shutting it off instead of loading it up on the trailer right then and there. So when it was running it would idle but rough and was real boggy, figured it was just bad fuel since it was over a year old. I disconnected the feed line to the rail and ran the pump long enough to pump out 5 gallons, no it did not go dry. Put fresh fuel in it and tried to start it only for it to crank no start. I have checked spark and it is good, checked fuel pressure by pressing on the schrader valve right after the pump has primed and got nothing so i figured pump had went out. Pulled feed line back off and jumper wired fuel pump and im getting plenty of fuel. Hooked the line back up and installed my fuel pressure gauge on the test port, 50psi for the 2/3 seconds the pump runs then instantly drops to zero, pulled the return line off of the rail and the fuel is getting pushed right out the return when the pump is running.
So today i pulled the intake apart and took the regulator apart figuring the diaphram would be busted and rotted away...nope looks good.
So im at a loss here since everything pointed to fpr but it appears to be fine.
Cliffnotes version...
jeep had no spark, wiring issues found and fixed. Jeep started but ran rough. Figured bad fuel, over year old. Pumped out 5 gallons replaced with fresh 9 gallons. Jeep wont start again, have spark, fuel pressure goes up to 45/50psi for prime cylce then instantly to 0 and you can see it shooting out return line when pump kicks on. Fuel pressure regulator looks fine.
