I deleted my ac box sooo much more room. I kept the inside box to keep defrost for ***** and grins. Had to do some cutting and modding but, air flows through the heater core and out the vents. We'll see how well it does or doesn't work here when it's up and running. Since I was keeping the interior box i just took a few different saws to it and cut out the engine bay box. I'll have to find a picture of the heater core sticking out.

My lt1 headers fit with my straight plug heads. I just swapped my hei for a holley dual sync. You have to unbolt k member to swap dizzy. Lower it like 4 inches. So make sure u get one that u like, cause its a pain in the *** to change. Once its in, its in. Good luck

Btw, i went to the parts tore and spent hours behind the counter with a tape measure. I dont remember wich one i got but the hose wasnt perfect. But it works. Belts and hoses take time to find when u have a unique build. No regrets though. If u have any questions along the way
561 240 9509. My name is sean. Be glad to help. Im no expert, but ive done this swap. Good luck

Oh I know I'll be at the parts store looking and looking for hoses, just was hoping someone who'd done it before could save me some time. I'll bend up some safety wire and take some hose end measurements and get to looking. What intake are you running, and are you under a stock hood? Got my engine in last week and knew I'd be close with a single plane but looks like I'm going to need a cowl hood or some creative cutting.

I have an rpm airgap. It worked great with a carb. But i recently switched to a terminator efi. All of a sudden i have uneven fuel distribution. Im swapping to a single plane within the next two weeks and am gonna drill it out for direct port nitrous. No more than 100 shot. But i want even distribution. I had to cut the cowl a little bit and lost the passenger side wiper. Probably didnt have to if i got a shorter intake, but i have no regrets. I cut a chunk out of the hood and rivitted down a 3 inch sunoco style scoop so i could use a decent sized air cleaner. Its tricky getting the one wiper to work because the passenger side is what moves the drivers side. But its doable. I did it. So if or when u get to that point, you jave my number if you need it.

Awesome, thanks a bunch, I'm there so next time I get some time to work on it I'll try to get up with you about how you got the wiper working and all.

Nice. Are you using the stock cooling system or replacing the radiator? Just wondered since the LT used a reverse flow cooling system. wasn't sure if there was any difference.

I used the stock LT1 radiator with a traditional V-belt ran SBC water pump. Upper and lower hoses from I think a 3rd gen 5.7. I'll have to check my notes for part numbers. Then threw some caps on the the unused ports of the radiator, wired my fans to a manual switch just like this http://shbox.com/1/fan_sw_diagram1.jpg and she's been just fine.

Biketopia, Did you remove the dash when you deleted the a/c box or just cut it out from the engine compartment? I want to get rid of mine to clear up under hood room but do not want to pull the dash lol

Nice Build. My Father-In-Law bought a 96 vette with an LT1 in it and he wishes he had opted for one with a regular SBC. He has had nothing but problems with the LT1.

I cut mine out from outside the car. Removed the heater core since it's easy enough to do from inside through the access panel they give ya. Then just cut, and smashed and cut some more to get it out.

My Father in Law own a 95 Vette with the LT1 in it and hates it. Mainl because it doesn't have a distributor and uses that cam driven ignition system. He dumped at least a grand into the ignition system. He could kick himself for not buying a 91 or older model.
