Default 95 sbc 350 tbi heads

New to tbi motors. From what I’ve heard the heads are trash. I’m converting from tbi to carb. I’ve got tbd distributor intake and carb, I just need advice on heads. Doing a v8 swap in my Vega

That depends entirely upon your budget, goals, and build.

Almost nothing about the L03 or L05 (305 and 350) is good. Heads are terrible, yes. You can get a flat tappet cam kit that's more interesting than the anemic 166/175 .382/.402 112 LSA factory cam on the cheap. Add iron Vortec heads or copies or budget aluminum heads with 64cc chambers and a head gasket in the .016-.026" range and you've got something fairly inexpensive that will make high 200s horsepower, which wouldn't be too shabby in an old Vega.

Intake will need to match the heads, whether early, late or Vortec (all 3 have different intake bolt angle patterns) but all these heads bolt straight to any SBC block exception being the 400, with need for steam holes.

What style intake do you have? 55-86? 87-95? 96-02? (early/late/Vortec)
