Project FlightRisk: Stickshift racing LT1 to 632ci...NEW TRACK VIDEO 3/15/20

Peak hp at 5600? What rear gear are you running? Do you know any of the engine specs? I had been eyeballing the blueprint 632 a while back (ultimately decided against going tall deck), it was an impressive piece for the money ($11,500 I think). Roughly the same power figures as yours.

I currently have 4.10s, but that may change. The LT1 was shifted at 6400rpm and the shift light was on going through the traps in the 1/8th. This engine is a Dart big M block with forged rotating assembly. I can get more details about the parts and post later. I think the rods are Carillo. The heads are Dart pro 1's. The blueprint engine uses their cast block and there heads...chinesium stuff. The "specs"? It is a 10.200 deck, the bore is 4.600 and the stroke is 4.750. Just out of the box heads and a small hydraulic cam. This is ran on pump gas, right around 10:1 compression.

Got some loom done, and everything wired to the relays. Now we need to get the driver side header in, and wire the relays to tbe panel.
Also got the brakes finished up.

Nice, I think here in the next week or so I'm going to order up one of those hoods for my set up as well. When we did mine we cut a hole int he hood then used an old shelf and made a "cowl" on the stocker. I have to keep mine outside so I needed something to help protect it from the elements when parked.

Finally got a day to turn some wrenches. My new job schedule leaves no time for racecarin'. We did manage to get everything wired up. Fuel system had one leak due to a fitting in need of tightening, but it went well. The Prostar 500 pump is louder than I thought, but it is cool because it is capable for all of the horsepower needs. We also got the fans and water pump working. Then we hit the button and turned it over!!! We didnt fire it off yet, which is cool because we already know it runs well, but a good milestone nontheless. Should get it fired off on Wednesday night, which is my next night off!! Stay tuned...

Hell yea!!! It's always nervous and exciting getting so close to "lift off." Your car is so clean under the hood, seeing it makes me wish I gutted the car and just picked up a painless kit and only had what circuits I needed. I might wire tuck the drivers side this winter and then I wont see it so maybe I'll be happier with it. I haven't been able to mess with mine much the past few months, it's been too damn hot and it seems I have **** going on every weekend. Hoping to take it out to T&T on Friday though and see what it will do with some jet changes and cooler air.

Post a video, it would be nice to see it make a pass. This thing will be running tomorrow night since I have the day off. I will post a video of it making some racket.

Right on man, still cool to see a sbc powered 4th gen making hits. We finished up everything, and when I hit the starter it turne over a few times, then I clicked on the ignition...and nothing. Checked power to my msd box, and it had power, no blown fuses either. We had just checked everything and the light was on...but I guess it decided to crap out finally. So, I need to get another box in it soon. I have work for the next six days straight of overnight shifts, so it may be another week before she is fired up.

Damn, that's a kick in the nuts! I had a coil go out on mine last year, did a bunch of work to it, fired it up to warm up and back it out. Turned it off to clean up and then went to go for a drive and it wouldn't start. Spent way too much time chasing my tale before I went and checked the basics.
