Default 95 Camaro V6 project???

I am getting ready to turn my wife's v6 into a drag car. My question is, would I be better off building a SBC or an LT1 based engine? What CI would you suggest? I am looking to run somewhere in the 6's in the 1/8. I have also been thinking of a FI combo. I don't want to go in debt doing this, but on the other hand I know that speed=money. Anyway, with that being said...which route should I take? Thanks in advance for any help.

I'd go SBC if not BBC in a drag only car myself. There's nothing you can't get for these engines to make whatever hp you want to. The used SBC speed parts you can find online for the price of old dirt

Yeah, that is kinda what I was thinking. I can also good some really good deals on LS1 stuff...I am back and forth at the moment. I figure the SBC route would be cheaper.

If you did decide to go FI ,the LT1 would definitely be cheaper than the LS1 . The only drawbacks are less initial hp and the dreaded optispark.
