know what side dip stickis on hey does anyone know what side the dipstick is on a 400 sbc its out of a 74 impala if that helps?

I have 2 400sb's and both are on the drivers side and it's a 2 piece tube. 1 is the tube you see and 2nd it pressed into the hole in the block to keep the stick 'outa the crank'. '70-'72 were 4-bolt mains. '73-'80 were 2-bolt mains. 
all sbc 400's dipstick on drivers side the later the block year the more nickel content most desireable castings are 817's and 509's casting numbers on left rear top of block. early blocks have three freeze plugs on side while later ones have two.
