Default Which hood

Ok so if I go carbed with a voctor jr intake(the high rise) which hood would i use? Would the wide cowl hood clear, with the air cleaner on? Or do I need to just go with the 4 inch?

The question is though will that clear a highrise intake, 1 inch spacer, carb, and an air cleaner with like a 2 inch drop base? And how high is the cowl? Right where it hits the Windshield. And who makes it?

its a 2.5 inch harwood cowl. it has a lot of clearance for a high rise intake with your carb of choice . im still trying to figure out how youll get a round air cleaner on it. youll most likely have to plumb a air intake to a conical filter.

Ok so I called VFN fiberglass just now and the woman told me that they are going to be making the "Mike Moran" style hood in a 3 inch version early next year and it will be coming out for us LT1 guys a bit after that. So that's good to know, plus its got the extra inch over the other one which will help with clearance issues

I think with your application it sounds like a 6 inch outlaw hood is the way to go.

My US Exotics hood looks just like an SS, but is hollow under the cowl and clears the carb no problem.

I have a Super Victor and a Dominator.

That looks pretty nice Nick. How do u run an air cleaner for that thing? Just a custom box under the hood?

haha.. There is no air cleaner man. And how in the hell do you plan on using one on a carbed fbody? The cowl has to be cut away just to get the carb itself to fit. There is no extra room for anything else.
