I recommend a direct port system over a plate, and I would chose Cold Fusion for my Firebird because of their angled nozzles.

Very off topic but you have one of the nicest looking racecar's that I have ever seen. Kudos.

Oh and I also recommend direct port over a plate system

Direct port is better as far as getting the most out of your nos setup, but its also the hardest to deal with. You can get a plate kit for alot cheaper and put the correct pills in it and you are ready to go. But, with a fogger kit you will need to fine tune each cylinder and alot of the time you will end up with different gas/nitrous pills in each one. Plus you will have to drill the intake for the fogger nozzles. If you want something that is easy as hell to mess with then go with the plate. If you dont mind spending the extra time and money then go with the fogger setup. And I would recommend NOS & NX over anything else.

Thanks, car guys can't get too many compliments. I guess I'm dense, the thread still looks like it's about direct port and plate systems for sbc . . .

I've used a basic NOS powershot plate kit, and as of now an Edelbrock Performer RPM plate kit.

IMHO, Edelbrock's kit is nicer (with braided lines and stainless solenoids), adjustable to 200 hp i believe (starts at 100 hp, but you can buy jets for lower hits) and less or similar $$$ for a fixed NOS 125 hp plate system.

Direct port systems are sweet, but not really necessary for anything mild under 200 hp, plus they are usually more $$$ I've found.

Just my $.02

For a plate, Wilson has the best IMO. I'd look to Speedtech or Cold Fusion for direct port.

Just my 2 cents. I have a NX direct port with the rail upgrade, and a maxamizer. This is in a carbed 355sbc in a 96' S-10. I love it never so much as had one hiccup and it was easy to tune.

No separate system for the juice. I'm running 3/8" aluminum line with a stock in-tank sending unit with an 8 psi carter electric pump by the tank, as well as an 8 psi mechanical pump in the front. Neither of these pumps require a regulator, and the system holds 6-1/2 to 6-3/4 lbs of fuel pressure on the motor at WOT, and 6 to 6-1/4 lbs at WOT on the nitrous.
