Question on msd 6AL box
i found an msd 6al ignition control box for sale in my area. now, i offered the guy 140 for it. i was wondering if this is a good price or not. the guy also said it is complete in the box. that leads to my second question. what else is needed in order to get it working and everything? any information would be of great help. thanks. also, not sure if this is in the right section but if it needs to be moved, then that is not a problem.

if it is complete in the box in "new" condition then you should buy it.. you shouldnt need any other parts to make it work as long as all the wires are there and the directions. you dont even need an msd distributor to use the msd box. "IF" the box is brand new never used then $140 is a good price. IF it is used, but in good condition then I'd offer around $120 for it tops. I just sold mine for $130 tho. They are $195-210 brand new so base your price on that and its condition.

Agreed! I just upgraded to a MSD digital 6 on my Nova, and sold my 6AL for $125 that was 4 year old. I used it with both a HEI GM distributor and later a MSD distributor, so it will work with most distributors. Make sure it has the rev chips with it (should have a 3000, 6000, 7000, and 8000 chip) that are used for the high-side rev-limiter. If not, you'll be shelling out about $20 more for those.
