Default 502 in an F-Body

Has anybody put a 502 CI or bigger engine in an F-body? Would a 502 fit in an F-body? If it does what do you have to do to make it work?

I know someone did put a 502 8.1L truck engine in a C5. Cost a metric **** load and made around 490ish rwhp.

I have seen a 540 but can't seem to find the link. I would think that if you already have a v6 shell or something like that I would just build up a Grand national style motor and make 600 hp out of a v6.

I've seen in in a early 4th gen. He had to cut the cowl some to fit the carb. I believe it was an orange Z-28 with a cowl hood. I'd like to do it to a V6 car, insurance on a 6 banger would be cheap. Besides, you'll have to swap all the suspension anyway.

I don't know if I have any pictures, but Jon Moss (GM) built a 95 Camaro with a fuel injected 502 under a fairly stock hood. I believe it was styled like the SS hood, but had a good size hump in the center. I can't remember any of the specifics, but I remember that the intake was a custom built unit with a seperate plenum for each bank of cylinders. Kind of looked like two LT1 intakes under the hood.

There are a couple third gen's here with some big motors in them. The silver camaro has a 545 CI BB, as Im sure a lot of you have seen. And the red firebird has a 632 BBC . Im sure they get pretty good gas milage too...

I saw all those links and now i know it is atleast possible. My new question now is would there be any clearance issues if i did a 502 with fuel injection. My car is a 2001 WS6, so i should already have a good amount of clearance in there on the top atleast, because of the ram air hood.

just look around the 502 is no different than any other bigblock. it will fit with a little modification. 502 is nothing special as far as fitment.

It's been done many times and one of the first threads ever in this section covered some of them.
