Default ZZ572 Help!

Ok first off this is the real deal.
I have a friend/customer building a buggy with a big block 572. He wants 1000 hp. And wants to use a GMPP 572.
So here is the question: How would you do it?
There are two choices of GMPP 572's
620 hp 9.6:1
720 hp 12:1
He does not want to use nitrous.
He is willing to run whatever fuel is neccessary.

Before you hammer me with "the guy is nuts" or "720 hp is way more than enough for a rail" I already know that. This is a $80,000 buggy and its all about the ego's..

So how would YOU do it?

Simple, get the 9.6-1 motor and run a Weiand 8-71 on top of it. 8-10 lbs of boost should get you close to 1000 hp.

Weiand or a Procharger would be sufficient on the lower compression motor. Or if he has money, build a single turbo setup. 1,000 hp on pump gas would be child's play.

Change the stick in it and cnc port the heads. It will get you close.

Thanks

In regards to your question about the GMPP 572 engine! WE have sold quite a few of them, the one with 12 to 1 compression that is making the 720hp would be a start.Puttin a blower on ethier one ~the compression really is not suitable. The bottom end of these is ok.But my feelings on this is if you are going to spend the money of what this cost, might save a little more and do a custom engine that really would be suitable and built totally around your application. We do have some fuel injected 572's that dyno'd right at 800hp!All I am saying is if you do not just want to stick a blower on one that you probly already know the cost of the engine and then the cost for the blower ect..you would already be at what you could have built a custom engine at and get one that would suit your need for POWER.Some of which we have seen gone as far as a 555cid carb'd engine that could easly make over 1000hp! Just some food for thought!

Here ya go! It made 925 on a 454, so I would think that on top of the 572 you would have no problem making 1000+.

the 572's are underrated. ive heard of 572's out of the box makin around 800hp. with race gass of course. jus cam it right and maybe go for the higher compression and youre set.

I agree. Car Craft ran the 720hp version on pump gas by retarding the timing and it still made over 750hp. I think on race fuel w/ timing it made over 800. After thinking about compression, I would think that either motor would be a bit high for a supercharger as someone above just said. However, I would still consider a centrifugal supercharger and either fly-cutting the pistons or opening up the combustion chambers. Either that or putting a set of pistons in it would be the best idea. It doesn't seem like money is an issue.

These things come with a .714 lift roller to start with.

Valve lift: .714” I, .714” E; Duration @ .050” 266° I, 274° E)

close to 1.7 hp per ci would be a very hairy combo.but 13.5 + cr,285-290*@.050 and .800 lift with 450 + cfm heads should reach atleast 900-950.
