Default SB in a Fox Body Stang

Anyone done a small block in a fox body mustang? I know AJE has the K- member to do it, just wondering if anyone has done it.

A real good friend of mine has done it, with great success, has gone ~9.60s with a (cheap) 355 and plate NOS system, Cheap Street legal (~.450 lift cam, very restrictive rules).

Not for sale, hes updating the chassis to 25.5 specs afaik.... That being said, EVERYTHING has a price. The motor is F/S, I'm not sure if it has been sold yet though,
here is a link to it...

i've seen a guy with a 383 in one with a lot of juice hit high 8's. Pretty nice car too. It's not a fox body but some guy i know has a 96 mustang and is putting a 540 big block in it. It's a pretty sweet car.

how about this one? i bought this car and started the project last fall. i'm still aquiring parts for the next step, which is to get it started! if you're going to be making decent power, why not go with front and mid plates and a k-member without mounts? it worked pretty well for my application if that helps any.

I am installing a 408 SBC with forged internals, dart heads, big solid roller, and 200 shot in a 90 Mustang coupe for a customer. I am using the AJE k-member and hooker super-comps for a 69 Camaro with a minimum of firewall modifications. Sould be a pretty fun street car.

Do you know if the 69 Camaro Headers will work on a SN-95? I am in the procees of builing a 94 Mustang with a 434 SB Chevy and Powerglide. I will be using a front and mid plate. I would like to use an off the shelf header and not have to make a set.

Thanks,

Jim

Not sure do SN95 headers fit a fox? If they do the 69 headers should work. But there is some firewall cutting to be done.

well, money has been tight for a while now, and i just spoke to the builder on that subject this eve. and here's what we decided. i've been without a car, non-minivan, for almost 18 months now. so, i'm holding off on having the turbo headers built for it right now, and get the car running n/a using a set of 18* 1 7/8" headers from a Chevelle and modifying them. we still need to plumb the fuel system, cooling, brakes, and all the electrical stuff. i have most of what i need, but there is still a couple grand in misc. stuff i figure to get it streetable. so, it looks like i should have it running/driving in april/may, so long as there are no big surprises. the turbo system can wait til next year. the fastest i've ever gone is 11.92, and this car should run mid 10's n/a on pump gas and that should hold me over for this year. i'd like to get the rearend set up to handle the power too so i can take full advantage of it.

I have been contemplating putting a BBC in a fox mustang for some time now, along with a TH400, or possibly a 'glide. Does anybody know what headers will work in a swap like this?

Not sure what brand they were but a guy around here installed a BBC using Ford 460 swap headers with BBC flanges installed...

I was looking at this swap a couple yrs. ago for a 14-71 blown alcohol BBC that I was toying around with putting in my stang...

Also Lemmons Headers will build you a set...For a price...

If you look at Hot rods pump gas drags for this year the only two mustangs in the top ten were fox/sbc's.

Im currently working on the header problem for my 85 hatchback with my 406 sbc. Im using the stock k-member but looks like some blockhugger may work...just gotta find someone that will let me borrow a set. We did find out the S10-V8 conversion header works for the passenger side and is close for the drivers side.

Well, I just acquired a '00 GT Rustang, and I'm seriously thinking about dropping in my 482 sitting in the garage, along with a TH400. The only drawback I can see is the fact that I like driving the little 'Stang, it's kinda fun having a manual trans car again. Can anybody offer any help on the swap? I'm really wondering about what headers might fit. I have already found a k-member that will work, and the wiring doesn't scare me. Damn, this is gonna be fun.
