my fault i havent started the motor yet. it will be another month or so. the 60102 is truely a street cam, very drivable. i have some heads coming along with stall and gears to get ready for the 60104 in my built 355. with the 200 hit of juice it will scream.

Hey Seadoo,I have a combo very similar to yours. Its a 408 with ported iron VORTECS(185 cc's after porting flowed 252 @.500 and 215 on ex.10-1 CR ,O deck .o36 head gasket,15cc dished SRP pistons and 6.0 h-beam scat rods and scat crank, port matched RPM air-gap with a 750 Mighty Demon carb,1.75 headers and 3 to 2.5 Dr gas X-pipe and Borla S.S. mufflers. The cam is a Comp adv. 280 and 286,230 and 236 @.050with .555 lift with 1.6 Comp roller rockers,LDA is 108,installed at 107, it is a hyd. roller.I have a 4 speed and 3.42 posi with street tires I ran 90 mph in the eighth mile,it's a blast to drive and is very streetable. It's in a 80 Z-28.

I'm no expert, but wouldn't a chrome moly driveshaft be a better idea? I know a lot of people who have broken aluminum driveshafts with stock LS1s.

i cant wait to have my new 79 so that i can stick a turbo charged 350 in there and play with all the second gens! i love 2nd gens, kick *** generation!!
and with alum driveshafts i've also seen others twisting them with some power, i'd do the chrome moly or carbon fiber shaft, the CF would shread apart if it was to ever mess up and wouldnt take out the underside of your car with it. but those are jsut ideas.

you could almost go with flattops with those aluminum e-tecs.pretty eficient chambers.10.5-11.0 should be easily doable even though most flattops will yield around 11.3-11.6 so i guess you're headed in the right direction.on second thought those 2nd gens are fairly heavy so spark knock might be a problem with more than 10-10.5 since it will take more throttle to accelerate than a lighter car.

I am finishing up my 383ci right now and I ran some E-tec 200's. I don't yet know how they run but I will tell you that you need to have the heads gone through the valves were off center a little (from core shift) which made them not seat "optimally" they seal but not in the right spot for the best flow also they will be at different heights "thus changing chamber volume" AND the "64cc" chambers actually ended up being "69cc" but after all was said and done the heads look great and should kick ***. Also you might want to run the 200's instead of the 170's bigger valves AND better flow most of the dyno testing that I've seen say that these heads consistently put out more HP and TQ thatn anything else they've seen.
