This car was built on a strict budget. Here are the specs. 1978 Camaro, Standard rebuild 5 over 355ci, mild heads and cam, th350, 373 posi rear, slicks, and 400lb weight reduction. From the factory it ran a 16.0 flat in the 1/4 and weighed in at 3600lbs. I'm looking for a ballpark figure on what it may turn in the 1/4 now.. Any comments or suggestions would be great, thanks

I'm saying low 14's based on the fact that it ran a 16.0 stock and its coupled to a 3-speed auto

Im also going to venture to say mid 14s, unless you put in a huge cam and matching convertor.

Good luck

about 12 years ago I had my full wieght 74 Z28 running 12.4s falling on its face coming out of the hole. Never got to fix the fuel issue before it was totaled by a drunk driver...

Specs were:

355C.I. forged Flat top short block
Manely 6in rods
New Dart 200 sportsman heads
Erson 294 Solid roller(Rare for a street car then)
March Under Drive pullies(good for 1.5-2/10ths)
4.56s 12 bolt
28x12.5 MT Sportsman pros
4k stall
TH400 custom bearing street unit I built

Drove it every day to work...but it REALLY liked Av gas!

Should give you an idea. we figured it would run mid-high 11s if we ever got it figured out. Engine went mid 10s in a lighter car after this one was toast.

My guess is mid to low 14's also. A friend of mine built the car for under $2,000. His goal is to beat my Z (1/4 mile) for a tenth of the price I paid for it. That would be insane
