1969 427 bbc Specs
Or where i can find the specs for these motors?
I can get an L88 427 from 1968 and want to make it have the power of at least the L72 motor, i am putting it in a 1969 Camaro COPO clone.
Also wondering if anyone knows how much torque the L88 has? i know it is a 390HP motor
Thank you any help is appreciated.
The l-72 - 425hp holly 800CFM 4-bbl carb, mech cam, big port cast iron heads. 11:1cr. 4 bolt main, forged tuftrided crank, forged pistons, alum high rise intake manifold.
I have one and untuned it did 350rwhp 390wrtk with headers.
seemed a little tired, my ls1 did 327/337 stock.
(350/390rw is about 425 crank Hp 490 crank TK)
-Put a 200 shot on it to bring it up to snuff.-
the L-71 - same but with 3 2bbr carbs
L-89 same as l-71 but with aluminum closed chamber heads
L-88 430hp holley 850cfm 4 bbl carb, high lift mech. cam alum heads (open chamber in 69), 12.5:1 cr, 4-bolt, forged tuftrided crank, forged pistons, floting wrist pins, 1/16" compression rings, 7/16" pushrods, open plenum intake manifold
z-l1 430 hp same as L-88 but with aluminum cylinder block
I have a set of 074 L-88 heads I was going to put on my l-72 but I think I am going to sell them and get a set of a.f.r. heads. Let me know if you might want them.
