Default motor is skipping bad and cant figure it out.

Hey guys, well the motor in question is a 355 w/ twisted wedge heads and the cam is around 230 duration, cant remember the lift. The truck is seems to be missing in one cylinder. the front one on the driver side. When you pull the plug wire off the truck runs fine, when you put it back on the truck runs like crap. we did a compression check on that cylinder and it was 160. the wires and plugs have all been changed. what else could it be? thanks for hte help guys.

you sure its timed right? its been awile but as i recall they run ok when they are 180 out (1 and 6) i went through this about 20 years ago on a mallory distributor. did a tune up and couldnt get it to run right after that. took a couple of weeks to figure out the rotor went on both ways and i had it on wrong. it would be worth taking 5 minutes to check
