Default BBc Heads and Valves Questions

Hello, I have a 454 30 over that I am putting together. I will be putting it in a 84 k20 truck with one ton axles. I have 148 heads that need rebuilding. My first question is shopuld I stick with the stock size vaves or go bigger with a set of 2.19 intake and 1.88 exhaust? I also have a choice of cams , a comp cam 520 lift 290 advertised duration, or edelbrock 500 lift with 292 advertised duration. I will be putting on a Edelbrock airgap intake with aEdelbrock750 Carb. I have been told many things of what do to I would be interested in hearind what you people have to say. Thank You!!

I would say port the heads with the smaller valves (bowl blend). I don't think the larger valves would flow that much better with a lower lift and lower RPM range. As you know, you are looking for Torque.
