How much hp are you looking to run? Max rpm? Whats the CID of the Big Block? Does your friend prefer iron or aluminum? Used factory or new?

I have a complete set of Dart Pro 1 345cc. New, never bolted on. I am going with a smaller head. $1800.

I'm a big fan of Dart heads. I use their Iron Eagles on my 9000rpm big block without any problems. I have also used their Pro 1 aluminums of big blocks for the street and the all out race engine. They don't cost a million bucks like Brodix, but you get the same performance. Good luck.

I know of a local guy with Pro 1's on his BBC car and it makes sick power, few other guys run them with good results also.

The RHS Pro Topline 320cc heads are the best I've seen so far. We've got a set on our 468ci race engine and it made 856hp 644tq. The car has run a best of 5.47@126 in the eighth mile in 5500' DA and at 2350lbs. After we ported them, on a 4.310 bore and a 2.25 intake valve, the best good runner flowed 402cfm@.800" lift and the bad runners around 387-390. We are still in the R&D stage on a 2.300 320 cc head but so far we've got the good runners to flow 427@.800", 430@.850 and the bad runners in the 420 range @.800 lift. They 320's ported will outflow the ported 360's. The way they put CC's in the ports didn't help the flow aspect of the cylinder head. A better flow number with a smaller port is always better.

This topic is useless unless we know the intended purpose of the engine.

Read this.

I would check out AFR's CNC BBC heads. I have a set of their 357cc on my 565 BBC and we got 982hp / 812tq out of it on a DTS engine dyno a few months back. I havent seen too many conventional head BBCs make more than that.
