Default Please help me!!

have an 88 camaro with a 305 throttle body motor, changed fuel pump, fuel pump relay, checked ignition module tested good, now for the problem, my two throttle body injectors are not firing. at one point had the rpm needle go to 7000 and stay then jump back and forth then my gas gauge went from e to 1/2 to full to 1/2 and stayed. need this car running by friday night or the city is gonna take it.

found a fusible link by the battery looks kinda bad. coating is peeled back and wire is black.

Your gauges flopping around usually means a bad ground. That could just be a poor harness connection at the cluster. If you car has been modified over the years, someone may have removed the original ground straps. Battery to body, engine to body. Your computer fires the injectors, so good luck. Sometimes it is a wiring harness problem and takes time to track down.......

fixed the fusible link with some fusible link wire from autozone. and one started to fire then pulled throttle body apart and put it back together (without doing anything to it, except look at it in a mean way.) and i kid you not they are both firing! the fusible link went to a mass connection point next to the battery that the little wire from the positive terminal fed.

fixed that now it runs, but now my tach stays pegged out. any ideas?

It probably has an hei distributor. The tach signal comes straight from the cap. Could be loose or something wrong with the tach. ???
