BBC into a S10 Blazer??

Default BBC into a S10 Blazer??

How hard is it to fit a BBC into a 84-93 S10 blazer? How makes the mount kit,headers etc.... I think this will be my next project down the road. I'm looking for about 600-650 on motor then spray a 200-250 shot. The motor can take that amount of spray correct, of course built.. How much will it take to build a BBC to handle that amount of spray and still run on 93? I'm use to LSx motors to sorry for the questions..

Would it be easier to build a SBC? I wonder if a 355 or 406 would take care of business? I like to get low low 11's on motor then mid to low 10's on the bottle... I'd figure going with a GEN 1 motor will be cheaper then a LSx motor but I could be wrong.

I've seen a '91 with a big block that was fit right in with the heater box and all still there untouched. But it was more of a show truck.
I hope you have plans for the rear section. I had a 13 or quicker second 355 powered '87 that would run 13 flat spinning the tires half way down the track. I'd guess it had about 370hp. Think about what 600 will be like.

For motor mounts you should use the adjustable section that bolts to the engine and uses the 2.8 frame mounts.

600 hp from a big block isn't that difficult. You really need a forged crank, and pistons. A good set of factory rods should hold up ok but theres no sense in not getting aftermarket.

It has a 454 based 468 pushing 650 hp with a lot of factory parts.

If you're interested I have a 468 I just built with reciepts totalling almost $7000 I'll sell for $5500 maybe with the car or maybe trade. I'd estimate it has around 580 hp. It needs to be fine tuned. The carb it straight out of the box and I haven't messed with the timing yet. So far it's got about 2 hours run time and 300 miles on it. Here are some build up pics.

Hmmmm I wonder if I could get 500hp out of a 383? Built bottom end to handle the bottle with a set of nice AFR heads, intake might a bowtie or something better, with a very nice 750 carb. I see this build to be cheaper than a LSx build..

A friend of mine had an 86 or 85 s10 with a 406 in it that ran mid to low 12's on bfg radials. Iron heads, mild cam and I think he said it had somewhere around 9.5:1 compression ratio. It ran good and he drove it around town once in a while.
