18* Heads

Hey I have a quick question for you motor guys....... I am going to be running 18* heads on my new carbed 383 build and I was wondering do I have to use 18* pistons or is okay to run just the standard flat tops like 23* ones? is there a difference? THANKS!

yup, valve reliefs need to be for 18*

Ross has a flat top that serves both valve angles. They work well but it is the only one of its kind I believe. I have run them. Ross even says and I used more then they said I should that they will hold 250hp of nitrious. look them up...they were a good deal.

i've been trying to find some 18* pistons with 8.0-1 compression for about a month now. its going to be a custom job from dimond pistons, about 1000 bucks
