if you are talking about driving it on the street 4.35 is the largest safe bore and a 4.5 stroke is the largest. this would come out to be a 535. you can bore most of those blocks to 4.375 but it will need to be filled with hardblock

Just my 2 cents, try NOT to go .125 over. I have seen more crack than it is worth.
These were mostly 600-800 HP drag motors, I will always say .100 ish over should be about max. We spend a lot of money on machining and it would suck to hurt it by being cheap, and using a block past it's useful life. Good luck.

Oh yea, on the stroke, we have never gone more than a 1/4 making a 505, but like I said above, I am kind of conservative, and not an expert. Listen to nova, if u must go max, fill it to be safe.

im with mrdragster..id recommend a 505..with a much smaller stroke. A buddy of mine did a 535 and said tq/hp peaks were close together and fell flat on its face at 6800 rpm...but granted it had unported heads/intake.

i totally agree with it not being safe or as smart to go .125 over . a 535 would be a killer street motor. low RPM torque and you could run a high rearend gear and wouldn't have to turn it a lot of RPM.
