70 Camaro???

Default 70 Camaro???

Hey guys I recently sold my 70 Chevelle and took the rebuilt 357 and rebuilt 350 transmission and gave it to my dad which he is going to use in its 70 Camaro, the motor has ported fuely heads with 2.02 in valvesbut 1.5 exhaust, it has a 490 lift cam from comp cams with 1.6 roller rockers, flat top pistons with eagle rods, and a edelbrock rpm intake, with accel ignition, my question is about how much hp is it going to have, and what carburator to use?

Also it has all the heater and ac lines, which i dont know if to take off to lighten it up a bit, because maybe i think they might be valuable. Also the Camaro has 4.11 gears and a 3000 stall if that helps. We dont know if to restore it since the interior looks great or make it a racing car. what yall think

If its not all origional now I'd just make a nice hotrod out of it.

Hp between 325-350. To make it a race car you will have to put money into better heads, cam, stall, gears and tires. You could leave it as is and add a 125-150 shot with some tires and have a fun car running somewhere in the 12s.

What carburator should i get I was thinking about the 670 Holley street avenger or any 750 with vacuum secondaries for the street. I'm still torn between street and race, sice i have about 11 compression, Also i already have some mickey thompson slicks with weld tires.

Leave it and keep it clean. Not many '70 1/2 left. There is plenty of race cars for sale if you want a track only car. It would take 10-20,000 to build a race car that was safe and reliable. Good luck.

I just dont know if taking the heater off and all ac line with the cooler will lower the value since it has a mint black interior and would like it to keep it that way, i was just asking about taking all that stuff away since it makes it easier to work on the motor.

I used a 670 street avenger for almost a year. I switched to a 750 double pumper and the throttle response and power was like night and day. If you have to get a street avenger get the 770...otherwise just get a regular 750 vac. holley. Good luck with it.

Not really,and its my dads car but me and him are going to work on it and probably give it to my little brother, what I like most about this car is the mint interior and even came with owners manual.The only thing not original on that car is the front end which is from a 73 Z28 and the rear end. Anyways nobody has told me to keep all the ac lines and heater on or of so what do yall think. Also would it lower the value to put crossed drillled rotors, and upgrade the suspension?

When I turned my '70 1/2 Rally Sport into a drag car, I took everything apart and saved in bags & boxes. Same for the rear end, engine, brakes, suspension, lines, wiring ect ect. If it's going to be a street strip car, I would leave everything alone. 100-200 pounds is not that big a deal. You are not going to run 8's, you are building a bad *** driver. So if you want my opinion, upgrade everything you can afford & save the stock stuff. So good luck, and keep at it.
