Default 305 vortec oil pressure scaring me!

I have a 98 chevy silverado with a 305 vortec and the oil pressure is about 45 on a cold start up and when it gets up to operating temp its about 20-23 psi. After its warmed up its about 40 psi at 60 mph. After its warmed up it idles at 600 when its cold it idles at 900-1000. Is this normal? The truck has 107k on it. After its warmed up and the psi is at about 20 if you bring the rpms up to 1k then the psi jumps up to 40. Is that normal?

you can always refer to the old rule of thumb for SBC of 10 psi for every 1000 rpm is safe. (probably applies to vortecs too)

Sounds normal to me, that's plenty of pressure at idle and as long as pressure increases with rpm you should be fine.
