BBC Brodix Heads and temp sender??
BBC Brodix Heads and temp sender?? If anyone here is familiar with these heads { BB2 Plus } Im trying to figure out if the flat milled spot on the exhaust side of the head is a place to drill and tap for a sending unit. My intake has the 4 corner cooling so as of now i have no place to install a sender. Id like to have it in the head but if thats a big NO NO to drill the head ill just tap a spot in the intake or T off one of the 4 corners. . Thanks

I have BB-2's, I always like my temp read from the front crossover on the intake, it should be the highest temp before going back to rad. So I wouldn't recommend tapping into the head. Never had a rear crossover, or a cast intake without a hole for sender, but I would much rather drill an intake than a head. My opinion. Good luck.

ok that will have to do, Ill pop my thermostat housing off and see how thick the alluminum is there. I was thinking in the head because i just got done paying $1900 for them and would like to keep an eye on how warm they are getting, im gonna bit a bit paranoid running this motor at first!! Yea this is a brodix intake. it has the front and rear cross overs. 4 1/2" pipe holes in each corner, i have 4 - 1/2" to #8an fittings in these holes. 2 lengths of #8 line with 90*s that tie the front and back together on each side. It all came with the intake. ebay.. I dont know the gains but id imagine it trys to help keep hot spots out of a motor.

I wouldn't worry about being a couple of inchs closer, plus like u said u did spend a bunch of money, so y drill the head, intake is cheaper if something bad does happen. My big heads & intake were over $10,000 and I don't worry about getting temp inside the head, like I said, I use the intake and don't give it another thought.
