Default Dies under braking....why?

Under medium braking my car will stumble hard and die if i dont keep pumping the throttle. If i brake really hard it will completely die. How can i fix this? Will raising the float levels solve this problem? They are a bit over half way up the eye currently. Carb is a mighty demon by the way.

Have you had this problem or is it something that just started any recent adjustment or parts???? My first thought was Vacume Related.

Its been like this since it was installed. Vacuum runs at 12mmhg at idle. The only accessory running off of the vacuum would the the gauge and the power brakes.

It has to much fuel and not enough air, that is why you have to pump the accelerator to keep it running (when the throttle blades open then it is catching itself). Call the Barry Grant Tech line they are very helpfull and knowlegable staff.

disconnect the vacum line to the booster, then take it for a run. If it goes away you have a crack in the diaphram.

I had the same problem back in the day... On mine it turned out the float levels were too high and fuel would slosh out the bowl vent and flood out the car under braking. The fuel should barely be on the sight. Half way up is too high as I recall. Before sight glasses you had to pull the plug to check level so it shouldn't be up on the glass. Good luck.

Sounds like a vaccum problem to me also.
